We Love Libraries
January 2011, we woke up to the fact that libraries all over the country are to be axed.
Libraries are under local authority control which means some boroughs will see libraries as essential while others will see them as expendable. Somerset for instance planned to cut up to 60% of its libraries but people power is making a difference. Meanwhile neighbouring Devon plans to cut none.
. There is National resistance to the cutting of libraries.

We Love Libraries-The Movie
Four award winning Somerset film makers are producing a film called We Love Libraries to support the protest.
Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis is on there along with the inventor of the Rich Tea biscuit Alan Bennett. Other luminaries include Oscar-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes, author Kate Mosse and national treasure David Attenborough.
We Love Libraries-The Tour
A day of protest is organised for Feb 5 2011 where it is expected that all round the country people will occupy their local library to bring attention to the importance of keeping such an important part of their community open.
Sly and Reggie will be buzzing round South London in the Middle Class Sound System, their mobile dub broadcasting sound system on the back of a black Morris Minor. The track will be playing and Sly on the live mic will toast while Reggie checks for traffic wardens.
